Former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger was perhaps the greatest love of Lewis Hamilton’s life. That’s because despite several breakups, they often ended up in each other’s arms… well, that was until they finally decided to call it quits for good in 2015.
Best known as the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls, an all-girls pop group that sold more than 55 million records worldwide, Nicole Scherzinger achieved worldwide recognition during her career.
After a solo career in music didn’t reach the same lofty heights as the Don’t Cha singers, Scherzinger became a judge in shows such as The Sing-Off, The X Factor, The X Factor UK, and Australia’s Got Talent.
When Lewis Hamilton met Nicole Scherzinger
The Formula 1 star met the pop star during the 2007 MTV EMA in Munich, Germany.
They began dating and soon, romance blossomed. Nicole was on the sidelines in Brazil when Lewis clinched his first Formula 1 World Championship. But twenty months into their relationship, the couple had the first of many splits. Like their other breakups, they pointed to their blooming careers as the culprit.

When they went their separate ways for good in 2015, it was also said to be because of work. At that time, Hamilton was a two-time world champion and his dominance in Formula 1 was just starting. Lewis talked about the breakup during an interview with Vanity Fair.
“I learned the hard way; I learned the hard way,” he said. “I haven’t talked about it much. I’m really just super focused on work. I’ve realised that I can’t do two things or three things at once, I’ve got to focus on one.”
Hamilton would go on to win five drivers titles after his relationship with Nicole ended, including in 2020 when he tied the record of seven World Championships won by the legendary Michael Schumacher. But while the success he enjoyed was unprecedented, Lewis admitted that it was the toughest stretch of his personal life.
“I wear my heart on my sleeve, and it is hard to hide my emotions. I’m trying my hardest to be positive but I’m going through a really, really tough time at the moment with the loss of someone really, really special in my life,” Lewis added. “My world turned upside down, but I have a job to do. I need to keep myself occupied and busy because otherwise my mind will wander and that makes the time a lot harder.”

Ever since his split from Scherzinger, Hamilton has been linked to several women. However, none of his rumoured flames has produced another serious relationship.
Meanwhile, Nicole had a three-year romance with Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov from 2016-19. the following year, she entered into a relationship with Rugby star Thom Evans. The pair were engaged last June.
