The popular Australian streaming service, Stan has launched the Stan Sport add-on package for both new and existing Stan subscribers, giving Australians yet another way to get their sporting fix (in addition to Optus Sport and Kayo).
These days, it can feel like there’s an abundance of streaming services all offering similar things and it can be hard to keep track of which ones are actually worth buying. It’s true, with Optus, Kayo and Stan Sport all claiming to be the Home of Live Sports here in Australia, it’s worth taking a closer look at what each streaming service is offering, before making the switch.
As is the case with on-demand streaming services, Stan Sport holds exclusive rights to some of the biggest sports in Australia and from leagues and competitions from around the world. Unfortunately, for fans of Premier League football or Formula 1, for example, you will likely have to now subscribe to more than one sports streaming service if you simply can’t get enough of live-action sports.
Here we’ll break down everything you need to know about Stan Sport.
In this Stan Sport article.
What Is On Stan Sport?
Stan Sport Rugby
Stan Sport first came to be following a deal that saw Stan and its co-owner Nine Entertainment secure a three-year contract with Rugby Australia to broadcast all rugby union matches. All rugby union matches can be viewed live on Stan Sport and a select few will be available to watch on a free-to-air basis on the Nine Network.
Stan Sport is also now the home of Super Rugby and Super W matches, along with The Rugby Championship, the Bledisloe Cup and the Shute Shield. Perhaps most importantly, and one of the biggest draws to subscribing to Stan Sport, is that all matches can be viewed completely ad-free.
Stan Sport was also home to the Rugby World Cup held in France in 2023, covering all the high-impact drama that unfolded both on and off the pitch.

Stan Sport has also gone big on tennis, securing the rights, in partnership with Nine Network, to broadcast all four Grand Slam tournaments – US Open; French Open and Wimbledon.
All matches on all courts will be broadcast live, and select matches are available to watch on-demand.
